Archistar Tadao Ando describes his experience designing Armani/Teatro in the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to his major works at Armani/Silos.
Giorgio Armani and Tadao Ando share an affinity for minimalism, the guiding element and principle of each of their respective art forms. Their joint work culminated in the early 00s with the visually striking Armani/Teatro building, a project the Japanese architect was called upon due to his sensibility towards the designer’s unadorned style, creating a neutral base for the reveal of newly minted collections.
“I wish to create an architecture that will live on eternally – not in substance or form, but as a memory within people’s hearts.” – Tadao Ando
In the film there is present Tadao Ando with his pure and essential vision and also a ‘dancer’ who interprets this vision and the essentiality of the architectural forms. He is Antonio Anuk, actor and dancer, born in Italy but now live in China.
Antonio is a five times Guinness World Record holder in three different categories: most consecutive rotations in airchair position, most consecutive L-support rotations, fastest ten meters spider walking.
